Cara was born and raised in Oregon, lived for 3 years with her family in Germany, and currently resides in the Portland area. She is a junior at Lakeridge High School where she maintains a 3.8 GPA and has twice been awarded Student of the Quarter from her teachers. As a sophomore Cara was inducted into the German National Honor Society. She plays goalkeeper for the varsity soccer team and will serve as captain during her senior year. During the 2009 soccer season Cara was named Athlete of the Week and received honorable mention for the All-League Team. She has played Elite Soccer for 7 years and in 2006 was named Goalkeeper of the year by Keeper1 training academy in Germany. While living in Germany she played for the American Olympic Development Team and was ranked as the #1 American youth soccer player in all of Europe.
In the summer of 2009 Cara was selected to be part of a leadership program on the campus of the prestigious Claremont McKenna College in California. She recently became a volunteer for Special Olympics of Oregon where she will be using her leadership skills to train and support the athletes of this great organization. She also works as a professional model and most recently was hired for a worldwide campaign for Reebok.
Cara’s passion for travel has taken her to 16 different countries with much of this travel taking place when she lived in Europe. During her time in Germany she had the unique opportunity to attend The European School where she met kids from all over the world. This experience gave her a broader view of the world and a greater appreciation for all that life has to offer. While living and studying in Europe Cara became fluent in German and can also speak some French and Italian. Her future goals include returning to Europe to attend Franklin College in Switzerland. She aspires to work in International Business in the sports, fashion or entertainment industries.
