2019 Miss Oregon USA Contestants
Abigail is twenty-two and passionate about enriching the lives of our elder population and teaching music to all ages. She received her BA in Music Ministry and Bible/Theology from Multnomah University in 2017. After graduating, she moved to Guadalajara, Mexico for a year to serve at an Orphanage teaching music and English. Her heart and determination to stay committed to a life of service makes her a strong candidate for Miss Oregon USA.
Allison Cook is a Cum-Laude graduate from Oregon Tech, majoring in Radiologic Sciences and minoring in Business and Medical Sociology. She currently works as a Clinical Imaging Specialist for General Electric Healthcare, traveling the country and teaching healthcare professionals about X-Ray equipment. Allison is a former collegiate volleyball athlete and 5-time concussion survivor who passionately advocates for Brain Injury Awareness. She is an accomplished collegiate referee, model, and electric violinist who enjoys making a difference.
Alyssa is a true Oregonian. Born and raised in Beaverton, Oregon, she loves the outdoors, firmly believes in recycling and embodies the state motto “She flies with her own wings.” As a first-generation college graduate, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Oregon State University and is now working in the heart of Portland for an engineering services company. What’s her next goal you ask? To represent her home state on the Miss USA stage!
Annika Pounds is a senior at Oregon State University, graduating in June of 2020 with two Bachelor’s degrees in Environmental Science and Sustainability, plus a minor in Business Administration. This 21-year-old is the President of her school’s competitive ballroom dance team. Annika volunteers with Corvallis Parks and Recreation, spreading her love for the earth with the program she founded, “Enviro-movement”. She dreams of improving the quality of our planet as a future environmental consultant.
Arielle has been working in her field of studies as a music and entertainment journalist since she was 15. This gal is always comfortable in front of and behind the camera. She’s had the amazing opportunity to photograph live performances of many bands. Arielle has a huge thirst for learning; she continues to learn Korean and German. She became a CNA to help take care of a family member, and now has a passion for nursing.
Ashley is an ambitious entrepreneur, social activist, and philanthropist. Her time is spent traveling to unique destinations around the world, indulging in exotic foods and partaking in extreme sports. Landscape photography is also a major passion of hers. Her most recent venture was a non-profit charity called LivEco, which uses its proceeds to rebuild and regenerate coral reefs around the globe. She is a first-generation American who embraces her Spanish and Polish heritage.
Audra is a graduate of Oregon State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration. Audra started her first business, Clarity and Solutions, at the age of 18 where she managed the finances of small businesses. She currently is the co-owner of Mile High Community Management and is a Certified Manager of Community Associations. Audra believes that in a world where you can be anything, the most important thing is to be yourself.
Brittney, a MFA graduate editorial photographer, believes her motto, “Together through small acts of kindness we can change the world.” She founded her organization, Be The One, which mentors ladies that through community service we all can make the world a better place. Being diagnosed with Asperger’s Brittney knows that no matter your skills or challenges we all can spread kindness in our life and that is what she wants to promote as Oregon USA.
Brooklyn Lowery is a 22 year old college student majoring in Mass Communications and Media Broadcast. Brooklyn also works as a model, co-owns GLOW Mobile Spray Tanning, and pursues her goal of creating a sustainable program to help end the cycle of chronic homelessness across Oregon. She is most thankful for her supportive family who have always encouraged her to chase her dreams, no matter how big!
Caitlen, 25, received a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Oregon State University, and is pursuing a master’s degree in Broadcast Meteorology. Since her mother’s cancer diagnosis, Caitlen’s passion lies in promoting ovarian cancer research, awareness, and support. An avid traveler, she attended high school in Singapore and has been to 17 countries. Currently, Caitlen is employed by Sports Lifestyle Unlimited and is a model for brands including Nike Swim and Columbia.
Emma Ellis, is committed to making a difference in the world. As a Public Relations major she’s achieving her goal of a career in fashion PR by getting a jumpstart in the industry working for dress designer Sherri Hill. Throughout her life she has proudly advocated for animal rights and as Miss Oregon USA she would use the title to continue to promote and share humane animal treatment with students across the state and country.
Hailey is a 22-year-old early Finance graduate from the University of Portland where she currently volunteers as an assistant coach and life mentor for the Pilots Dance Team. Using her degree to further her career, Hailey works as an assistant buyer at Kroger. With a passion for dancing, you may find her at the Moda Center dancing on ice as a professional dancer for the Portland Winterhawks hockey team!
A graduate of Portland State University with her degree in Theatre Arts, Hannah moved from Salem to Portland to begin her career in Marketing and Advertising. She is now an Account Executive working on publications like Travel Oregon and Portland Uncovered, drawing visitors from all over the world to explore our magnificent state. Hannah continues to pursue her passion for acting and storytelling, appearing on stage throughout the Willamette Valley whenever she can.
Hope is a dedicated full time student at Treasure Valley Community College. She plans on transferring to Washington State University to obtain her degree in Veterinary Medicine. As a small business owner, Hope is a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. She is passionate about helping women look and feel their best. Her volunteer work includes vacation Bible school, local animal shelters, and working at the Nyssa food pantry.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Irene is an active duty petty officer in the United States Coast Guard and international politics student at Penn State University, where her dedication to academics is reflected by her membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Though currently serving her country, she strives to serve the globe with an international relations career and is opening that door as a volunteer United Nations news anchor.
Katerina Villegas, 26, a doctorate student and future Clinical Air Force Psychologist, works to educate others on developing coping mechanisms for the issues of mental health such as anxiety and depression. Her goal is to challenge our youth by encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones to grow in confidence. Katerina has had two Billboard Chart hits, and has performed her song “Hey Mami,” on national and international television.
Kayla, 24, was born in Lebanon Oregon. She grew up to go to college for singing and songwriting in Hollywood California. Kayla is currently writing her own album to help heal the world with her words. Kayla’s plan is to inspire everyone to always do the next right thing, be honest, stay positive, and follow your dreams! Kayla knows from experience, dreams really do come true.
Manju is a physicist, actor, and the founder of Operation Period, a youth-led, menstrual health nonprofit that provides advocacy, education, and services in the USA and India. She’s worked at two NASA centers on spacecraft propulsion and display design, as well as in the White House on science policy under President Obama. In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano, dancing, and traveling the world. To date, she has visited 3 continents and 16 countries.
Sara Rose is a passionate entrepreneur, launching her own business this year in marketing strategy and design supporting women-led companies. She also volunteers at her local elementary school with Gratitude University, a program she started to encourage students to incorporate a gratitude practice into their everyday lives. In her free time, she can be found taking and teaching dance cardio classes, researching new health and wellness trends, and enjoying all of Oregon’s outdoor activities.
While working at her alma mater, McNary High School, Sofia found her passion in special needs. She was the first in her family to graduate from college and was raised to work hard and be resilient in everything she does. Sofia advocates for teens and young adult of developmental disabilities and volunteers within her community. In her free time, Sofia enjoys; fashion, hiking, traveling, the gym, and quality time with others.
Willow is a certified personal trainer, pursuing certification in Nutrition and Healthy Living from Cornell University. Living on a farm has reinforced her strong work ethic and influenced her healthy lifestyle, to include eating an environmentally conscious diet, which she shares on her YouTube channel. With the title of Miss Oregon USA, Willow will have a platform to teach children how to make healthy choices that are easy and fun, through interactive workshops.
